Jerry Allen Loveless, 55, former Columbia resident, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at his residence in Smyrna. The family will visit with friends Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols concluding with funeral services 7:00 p.m. Pastor Dennis King, Mallory Loveless, Thomas Harris, and Pastor Russell Ward will officiate. Loveless, Jr. A 1970 graduate of Columbia Central High School, he earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Business from DeKalb College in Atlanta, Georgia. Later, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Master of Science Degree in Business Technology Management from Mercer in 1995. A former member of the Sports Staff of The Columbia Daily Herald, Jerry was a 33-year employee of Bell South/AT& T. In 1981, he married the former Susan Camron who survives. In addition to Susan and his mother, survivors include brothers Joe Loveless of Columbia and Gordy Loveless of Elvaston, Illinois; nieces and nephews, Mallory Loveless, Jeff Loveless, Jan Loveless, Kim Loveless, Greg Loveless, and Brandi Camron-Pajot. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald Ray "Tuffy" Loveless, Charlie Loveless, and Michael Loveless.
