Jerry McClain, 64, assemblyman for a private trailer company and former Maury County resident, died Friday, August 11, 2006 at his residence in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Larry Johnson officiating. Burial will be in McClain Cemetery in the Mt. Joy Community. Pleasant native was the son of the late Turley and Addie McClain. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Spires McClain of Columbus, Georgia; son, Jerry Eugene McClain of Rome, Georgia; step-daughter, Treva Massey of Chestnut Mound, Tennessee; sister, Helen Pinkley of Horn Lake, Mississippi; brother, James McClain of Pensacola, Florida; two grandchildren; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers are Danny Grooms, Roy Wayne Grooms, Charlie Grooms, and Tiny Yowell.
