View Funeral Webcast Mr. Jerry Wayne Price, 71, former long-time resident of Nashville Highway, went to be with his Lord and Savior April 24, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A celebration of Jerry's life will be Monday at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Pulaski Pike and Sheegog Lane. Pastor Pete Tackett and Pastor Mike Dawson will officiate. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes and Nichols and Monday after 5:00 p.m. at the church. Private family burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. He retired from Bell South Telephone Company in 2002 after 36 years as an electronic technician and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Jerry loved his Lord and membership in First Baptist Church. He received great joy from his many years of participation and dedication to the First Baptist Church Choir and Media Ministry. As a gift to their community, for many years Jerry and his wife maintained the flower garden in the median on the Nashville Highway at the entry to Columbia. He was a life member of Columbia Central High School Band Boosters and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Nancy Watson Price of Columbia; sons, Richard (Deona) Price of Nunnelly and Sgt. Jonathan (Danna) Price of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; 3 beautiful granddaughters, Abigail, Tarah, and Jennah; sisters, Dorothy Price London of Franklin and Ruth Price Martin of Kentucky; brothers, Charles (Mary Sue) Price of Boise, Idaho and Ollie (Ruby) Stewman of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Polly Price of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Beatty Price; a sister, Corniela Price McNeill, and a brother, O. E. Price, Jr. Pallbearers are Stan Breeden, Dave Forrester, Mike Belt, Steve Cross, Terry Bearden, Mike Vaughn, Bill Buckles, Corky White, Stephen Maupin, and Carl Brooks.
