Jerry Thomas Vaughn, 75, dairy farmer and resident of Old Columbia Highway in Lewisburg, died Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bryan Bassham and Randy Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Mount Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born April 12, 1943 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Carthal Vaughn and the late Mary Thelma Gilliam Vaughn. On August 7, 1965, he married Patricia Thrasher Vaughn who preceded him in death December 5, 2017. He had served in the Tennessee National Guard. Mr. Vaughn was a member of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ and had served as an elder for over 30 years. He loved his church family and he loved farming and sports. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his three grandsons. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Karen (Danny) Pugh of Franklin; and grandsons, Drake Pugh, Parker Pugh, and Reed Pugh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Evelyn Martin; and Nancy Vaughn. Active pallbearers will be Bill Thrasher, Daryl Thrasher, Keith Pigue, Brian Pigue, Dwayne Martin, and Wayne Martin. Honorary pallbearers are past and present elders and deacons of Scribner’s Mill Church of Christ.
