MR. JESSE NEALMr. Jesse Lee Neal, 79, long-time partner of Anderson & Neal Trucking Company, owner of Dairy Transport and resident of Bear Creek Pike, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital.Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Donald Dark, Oliver Pantall and Carl May officiating. Burial will be in Neapolis Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Neal and Maude Hill Neal. He was a former long-time resident of the Neapolis Community. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a long-time member of Berea Church of Christ.Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Christine Warf Neal of Columbia; one daughter, Connie (Marty) Avery of Columbia; one grandson, David Avery of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Annie Lee Neal; one niece, Sheila Clark; one nephew, Dennis Neal; and several devoted and loved Warf family members.He was preceded in death by a son, Don Neal, and a brother, Richard A. (Hap) Neal.Pallbearers will be Dan Batey, Danny Owens, Julian Sharp, Malcolm Hazlewood, Mack Liggett, Bill Cochran, Ricky Damron and Dennis Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Berea Church of Christ and former employees of Anderson & Neal Trucking Company and Dairy Transport.
