Mr. Jesse Bob "J.B." Staggs. 77, retired electrician at Union Carbide and resident of Caldwell Drive, died Saturday, December 3, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Lawrence County native was the son of the late Hardin Staggs and Ludie Mae Brown Staggs. He was a graduate of Summertown High School. On June 20, 1948 he married Mary Alice Liles Staggs of Columbia who survives him. He was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Staggs was an avid camper and fisherman and enjoyed activities of all kinds with his family. Survivors in addition to his wife are five daughters, Mrs. Connie (Cody) Ingram, Mrs. Debbie (W.L.) Culberson, Mrs. Kim (Lee) Duff all of Columbia, Mrs. Sandy (Carl) Mills of Spring Hill, Ms. Mitzi Devore of Brentwood; 11 grandchildren, Steve Ingram, Becky (Josh) Kennedy, Amy Ingram, Mackenzie (Terry) Skiles, Meghan (Zach) Tate, Rusty Mills, Keith Mills, Tucker Devore, Gracie Devore, Natalie (Preston) Carroll, Adison Duff; and 4 great-grandchildren, Owen Kennedy, Linley Skiles, Courtney Mills and Chase Mills. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law: Steve Ingram, Rusty Mills, Keith Mills, Adison Duff, Tucker Devore, Josh Kennedy, Terry Skiles, Zach Tate and Preston Welch Carroll, III. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Boshears, Troy Bowers, Eddie Baker, Leroy Burns, Joe Ford, Willard Norton, Danny Joe Liles, Harlan Liles, Mack Liles, retired employees of Union Carbide, Men of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Dr. Lucy Ledbetter, Dr. Campbell Sowell, Jr. and Dr. Gibran Naddy.
