Mrs. Jimmie Moran Knapton Mrs. Jimmie Moran Knapton, 82, retired teacher, widow of William "Bill" Knapton and a resident of Porter Circle, died Friday, February 6, 2004 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Joe Macer and Phillip Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin. Memorials may be made to the Eastside Church of Christ Building Fund or the Wednesday Bible Class, 1024 East Valley Drive, Columbia, 38401. She was a graduate of Franklin High School in 1940 and earned her teacher's certificate at Middle Tennessee State College. She began her teaching career at Culleoka and Mynders Schools and later taught third grade for 25 years at Riverside School and later at Hampshire School. She retired in 1982 after thirty-nine continuous years of teaching and was a member of the Maury County Retired Teachers' Association. She was a long-time member of the Eastside Church of Christ and the Wednesday Bible Class. Survivors include two daughters, Joann Johnson of Columbia and Mary Charles (Ricky) Harris of Spring Hill; three sisters, Mary Jo Whitefield, Margaret Kinnie and Ann Moran, all of Franklin; seven grandchildren, Terri (Pete) Aldridge of Spring Hill, James Lee (Gidget) Johnson of Lewsiburg, Brandy (Benji) Robinson of Spring Hill, Phillip Johnson of Clarksville, Chad (Kari) Harris of Columbia, Mary Beth (Michael) Bridge of Columbia, Paul Wayne Johnson of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Robinson of Spring Hill, C. J. Bridge of Columbia, Matthew Wayne Bridge of Columbia; a niece, Mary Ann Nelson of Franklin; two nephews, Jim Kinnie and John Kinnie, both of Franklin.
