View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Jimmy Ray Quirk, 56, retired Regional Sales Representative with Lyons Textile Restoration, died Saturday, May 19, 2018 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer, at his residence on Wilson Court. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at South Gate Church of Christ with Sam Quirk and John Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in McCains Cemetery with Joe Macer officiating the committal service. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at South Gate Church of Christ. Born November 26, 1961 in Millington, TN and reared in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of Jesse Ray Quirk and Janice Erwin Quirk of Columbia. He graduated as Salutatorian in the 1980 Class of Mt. Pleasant High School, where he played the tuba and was very active in the marching band. Mr. Quirk earned his Associates degree in Business Administration from Columbia State Community College and attended Middle Tennessee State University where he was a member of The Band of Blue. As Regional Sales Representative with Lyons Textile Restoration, he covered the Middle Tennessee and Northern Alabama areas. He was a former member and Past President of the Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club and Paul Harris Award recipient. Mr. Quirk was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed yardwork and gardening, especially flower gardening. He was a member of South Gate Church of Christ, where he had served as deacon and was instrumental in organizing ushers and greeters making sure everyone felt welcome to worship. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife whom he married July 22, 1983, Anna Wilson Quirk of Columbia; son, Samuel Jeffrey "Sam" Quirk of Columbia; brother, Jeff Quirk of Columbia; brothers-in-law, Tom (Pam) Wilson and Jerry Doak (Peggy) Wilson, both of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Bradley Wilson "Brad" Quirk on July 16, 1995; paternal grandparents, Elma Fly Quirk & Jesse Lee Quirk; and maternal grandparents, Lillian Pullen Erwin and Thomas Leslie Erwin, Sr. Active pallbearers will be Jim Pollard, Richard Farris, Barry Cross, Randy Jones, John Hatfield, and Nathan Hixson. Honorary pallbearers will include Ray Rummage, Webb Williams, Dennis Thomason, Jeff Stockton, Dr. Justin Kropf, Eric Strickland, Greg Lusk, Barrow Brown, Tim Lee, Robert Tyree, Benny Bolton, James Thomas, Donnie Davis, Derek Church, and Dr. Mike Tyler.
