Mr. J.L. Hardison, 61, longtime manager at Otasco, died Sunday, October 1, 2006 at his residence on Davis Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Robert A. Hardison and Willie Mae Dunnivant Hardison. He attended Maury Schools and graduated from Lewis County High School. Following his employment at Otasco he worked for Lowe's. Mr. Hardison was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of nearly thirty years, Gail Parr Hardison of Columbia; one daughter, Mrs. Jennifer (Kent) Edwards of Jackson; three sons, Eric (Annie) Hardison of Henderson, Shane Hardison of Nashville, Sam Hardison of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Susane (Josh) Lockard, Casey Hardison, Cameron "Scooter" Hardison, Ethan Hardison, Jessi Edwards, Charlie Edwards, Jack Edwards; one great-granddaughter, Kendall Gail Lockard; two sisters, Mrs. Norma (David) Moore of Spring Lake, N.C., Mrs. Barbara (Johnny) Butler of Columbia; two brothers, Bobby Hardison of Columbia, Eddie (Dolly) Hardison of Franklin; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jerry and Jan Rooker, Samuel and Minnie Davis, Bob Cloys and Ruby Jones. Pallbearers will be Jerry Rooker, Wray Wright, Clay Pruitt, Kenneth Thompson, Walter Gill, Cacey Hardison, Scooter Hardison and Bob Cloys. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Alan Cohen, Dr. Marion Bolin, Dr. Cummings Couch, Dr. Charles Ball, Dr. Ed Emerson, Samuel Davis and Don Sneed.
