Jo Ann Mcbee

Jo Ann Hollis McBee, 67, retired school teacher, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at her home in Columbia.Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Loretto Memorial Chapel with Pastor Paul Mason officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Columbia. Memorials may be made to New Song Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, TN.The Lawrence native was the daughter of the late John Lem Hollis and Velma Hollis. She attended Florence State Teachers College in Florence, Alabama, graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and received her Masters Degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro. She was a devoted member and teacher at New Song Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband of forty-five years, Gene McBee of Columbia; two daughters, Betsy Walker of Columbia; Bonnie (T. Scott) Bak of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; one son, Pete (Christy) McBee of Greenhill, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Kacy Walker, Zac Walker, Josey Bak, Calvin Bak, Wyatt Bak, Will McBee, and Margaret Mae McBee.
