Mrs. Jo Ann Pierce Woody, 60, resident of South Bigby Drive, died Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols with Elmer Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late James Houston Pierce and Annie Ruth Dugger Pierce. She was a 1966 graduate of Haylong High School. On April 5, 1969 she married Joseph Ronald Woody of Columbia who survives her. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 19, having served two terms as President, and was a member of La Societe de femme, Ladies Auxiliary for the 40 & 8. Mrs. Woody attended South Point Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter, Anna Kate Woody of Columbia; son, Josh (Kathy) Woody of Hampshire; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Grace Woody and Scarlett Rieves Woody; cousin, Elsie Simmons; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ray Woody, James Woody, Larry Grooms, Jimmy Underwood, Michael May and Bill Hardison. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Fresenius Dialysis Clinic, Dr. & Carrie Barr, Post 19 Ladies Auxiliary and 40 & 8 Ladies Auxiliary.
