Joan Smith Bracey, 75, retired facilities assistant with South Central Bell, died Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Nashville Alive Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Dr. Allison Gilliam officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Weakley County, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Roberta Smith. She was a graduate of Haylong High School in Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Lady of the AAONMS, Music City Bottle Club, Beam Bottle & Specialities Club and past State Beamer. Survivors include her husband, Charles W. Bracey of Antioch; a step-daughter, Beverly (Allan) Potts of Franklin; a step-son, Michael Bracey of Hollywood, Florida; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Angel) Watts of Mt. Juliet, Wednesday (Greg) Dodd of Franklin, Charles Potts of LaVergne; several nieces & nephews. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
