Mrs. Joan Warf Farris, 78, resident of Lake Drive, died Friday, November 4, 2005, at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 2:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Elmer T. Warf and Bertha Judd Warf. She was married to Porter B. Farris who preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Farris was employed at Anderson Brothers & Foster for several years and retired as cashier at Hardees. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Terry Farris of Columbia; Dennis Farris of Dickson; four sisters, Mrs. Addie Peach and Mrs. Carolyn Perry, both of Theta Community; Mrs. Jessie Hines of Columbia; Mrs. Jean (Jack) Willis of Santa Fe; three grandchildren, Mrs. Terri (Kerry) Dickens, Tranace Farris, Justin Farris; two great grandchildren, Sydney Dickens, Maggie Dickens; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Priest and Rachel Chandler and two brothers, H. A. Warf and Buck Warf. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Northside Baptist Church.
