Jocinda Lawrence Martin, 46, hairdresser and resident of Spring Hill, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the home of her parents on Mooresville Pike. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. William Sasser and Pastor Derek Hunter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Mary Grace Martin College Fund at First Farmers Bank, 1501 S. Born August 26, 1971 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, she was the beloved daughter of Jim Lawrence and Harriet Penelope "Penny" Gray Lawrence. The family lived in the Kenosha area for many years, moving to Tennessee in 1985 and settling in Culleoka. She was a 1989 graduate of Culleoka Unit School, continued her education at Columbia State Community College and graduated from Beauty School. She worked as a Hair Stylist in Columbia for 28 years. Many of those years were at Studio 14 where she enjoyed getting to know her clients and loved working alongside one of her best friends, Missy Bolenbaugh. Eventually they joined together at Sam and Company with their close friends Tracey Walters and Meredith Martin. Jocinda was warm, loving, compassionate and loyal and most of her clients became lifelong friends. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her daughters and grandson. Vacationing at the beach with them was her favorite way to relax and have quality time together. She always had an eye for beauty and decorating and knew how to make her house a home. Jocinda will be deeply missed and will always be affectionately remembered by her family and friends. She was a member of Grace Church at Franklin and had attended Restoration Community Church in Spring Hill. Survivors include her daughters, Hannah Lawrence (JD Lineberry) of Culleoka; Emilee Lawrence of Spring Hill; Mary Grace Martin of Columbia; grandson, Beaux Maverick Brophy; stepson, Chance (Andrea) Martin of Spring Hill and their daughter, Hollis; parents, Harriet Penelope "Penny" Gray Lawrence and Jimmy Ray Lawrence of Culleoka and sister, Chris Lawrence; brother, Jim Lawrence of Columbia and his son, Isaiah of Columbia, and daughters Kayla of Kenosha, WI, and Adelaide of Columbia; brother, Nathan Lawrence of Kenosha, WI and his children, Crystal and Ashley. Her grandparents, Jim and Lorene Lawrence of Kenosha, WI and many aunts, uncles, cousins.
