Mr. Joe Robert White, 69, retired Certified Public Account and resident of Lyon Street, died Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Smith and Rev. Jeff Jacob officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a Masonic service conducted at 7 p.m. They will visit again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. The Hardin County native was the son of the late Joe Anderson White and Drucilla Dobbins White. He was a 1952 graduate of Central High School in Savannah and graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He served in the United States Army and was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mr. White was 2004 Mason of the Year, Past Worshipful Master and Treasurer of Columbia Lodge No. 31 Free and Accepted Masons. He was past High Priest of Lafayette Chapter No. 4 Royal Arch Masons, past Ill., Master of Columbia Council No. 139, past Immit. Commander of Knights Templar Columbia Commandry No. 35, past President and past Secretary Maury County Shrine Club, he was bestowed with Knights of the York Cross of Honor and was a member of Al Menah Temple, Shrine. He was a former member and past President of Kiwanis Club of Maury County and former member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. He enjoyed being with family and friends, helping Shriners Children's Hospital and was a University of Tennessee sports fan. Survivors include his wife of forty-five years, Mary Strickland White of Columbia; one son, Michael Joseph White of Murfreesboro; one daughter, Kelly Ann (Stephen) Brown of Franklin; four nephews; and two great-nieces. Pallbearers will be Joe Foster, Leroy Gibson, Rufus Haygood, Kenneth Eubank, Howard (Buck) Locke, Bob Murray and Charles Luttrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Masons, clients, Joe Max Williams, Charles Crotts, J.B. Shepherd, Jerry Jones, Lynn Jones, Travis Jones, Keith Edlund, Dr. John Alden, Neal Blair, David Biederman, Albert Stone, Larry Hunt and Dr. William Robinson.
