View Funeral Webcast Joe Willie Duvall, Sr., 85 resident of Columbia, died Friday May 3, 2019 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services for Mr. Duvall will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes and Nichols with Bradley Dugger and Dr. Rufus Clifford officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Caris Hospice, 1412 Trotwood Ave # 11, Columbia, TN 3840. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 13,1933 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Paul Dean Duvall and the late Margaret Alberta Chunn Duvall. On April 9, 1954 he married his wife, Jean Brown Duvall. Mr. Duvall served in the United States Army, and worked for Union Carbide and retired from Union Carbide after 36 years. After retirement, Mr. Duvall had his own handyman business, Duvall’s Home Maintenance for 10 and a half years and also worked as a handyman at the James K. Polk Home. Mr. Duvall loved to fish, camping, and listening to bluegrass music. Above all, Mr. Duvall loved reading his bible and was very knowledgeable, he spent 39 years ministering to the community. He was a member of the Jackson Heights Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Jean Brown Duvall of Columbia, TN; daughters Sonia (Robin) Trousdale of Oviedo, FL, Star (Brian) Williams of Columbia,TN; son, Joe Duvall of Columbia, TN; grandchildren, Nathan Williams, Abby Williams, Benton Williams, Ashley (Brett) Pelfrey, Chloe Nikole; great grandchildren, Ella Pelfrey, Ethan Pelfrey; sister, Dorothy Murphy; brother, Leonard Duvall; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Duvall is preceded in death by brothers, James “Buddy” Duvall, Larry Dale Duvall; sister, Bonnie Williams. Pallbearers will be Brian Williams, Nathan Williams, Benton Williams, Robin Trousdale, Darryl Williams, Ricky Duvall. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Charlie Norman, Ashley Brown, and Chris Clifford.
