Joel Edward Gordon

Joel Edward Gordon, 86, engineer for HCA and then Quorum, died Sunday, November 21, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee. A family service will be held Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 4850 Highway 200, Lexington, Tennessee 38351. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Born November 18, 1935 in Waverly, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Johnny Edward Gordon and the late Arzie Capps Gordon. On December 18, 1955, he married Alice Marie Garner Gordon who preceded him in death August 24, 2009. Mr. Gordon was an avid golfer and loved spending time with his family and dogs. He was a member of Bellevue Church of Christ. Survivors include his sons, Timothy Edward “Tim” (Maribeth) Gordon, David Riley (Melissa) Gordon; grandchildren, William “Will” (Mollee) Gordon, Jennifer (Micah) Barnes, Leslie (Michael) Murray, Andrew (Emily) Gordon; great grandchildren, Ruby Murray, Charlotte Murray; and brother, Don (Pat) Gordon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carolyn Gordon.
