Mr. John Lewis Bean, 59, former Lynnville police chief and resident of Mill Street in Lynnville, died Thursday, September 14, 2006 at St. Thomas Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wright Cemetery in Lincoln County. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 6 - 8 p.m. and Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Lincoln County native was the son of Flossie Tallman Bean of Lincoln County and the late Thomas Bean. He had been employed by the City of Lynnville Water Department before becoming involved in law enforcement. He attended the Church of Christ. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Linda F. Roland Bean of Lynnville; two daughters, Tonia (Eric) Tidwell of Spring Hill, Bridget (Eric) Wiser of Lincoln County; three sons, Jamie (Jacquelyn) Bean, Jason Bean and Jeremy Bean all of Lincoln County; brother, Joe (Marijo) Bean of Lewisburg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Faye Bean of Lincoln County, Wanda and Norman Howell of Pulaski, Nancy and Ricky Roland of Centerville, Kenneth Roland of Culleoka, Beverly and John Roland of West Palm Beach, Florida; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; three half-sisters; two half-brothers; and special friend Dr. John Maloof. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
