John Burns Jr

Mr. John Ross Burns, Jr., 90, retired owner-operator of Burns Furniture Company on South Main Street and long-time resident of the Cross Bridges Community, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jim Hughes officiating. The Maury County native was the son of the late John Ross Burns, Sr. and Felicia Webster Burns and a descendant of pioneer Maury County settlers. His wife Josephine Jones Burns who died in 1999 preceded him in death. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Mary Jo) Breen of Naperville, Illinois and Ms. Felicia Anne Wilson of Tallahassee, Florida; four grandchildren, Jim Wilson, Peter Breen, John Breen and Julie Anne Breen; and several cousins
