John Edward Whatley

John Edward Whatley, 60, former roofer and employee of Erwin Insulation, died Monday, May 16, 2022 in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 4:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends Monday from 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born December 8, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Billy Gray Whatley and the late Annie Ruth Beard Whatley. He loved fishing and his dog Bruits. Mr. Whatley was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his children, John Edward (Rhonda) Eastep, Brandy Nicole Eastep, Brian Keith Frazier, Cynthia Lynn Frazier, Zachery Frazier; great grandchildren, Ryan Eastep, Hannah Eastep, Cameron Eastep, Leighton Hurt, Hazel Anders; mother of his children, Lisa Frazier; sisters, Teresa (Paul) Schafer, Janice Whatley; brother, Chris (Lisa) Whatley; and sister-in-law, Tina Whatley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Andrew Frazier; brother, William Troy Whatley; niece, Amber Whatley; and nephew, William Allen Carter.
