JOHN WITHERSPOON FRIERSON, V John Witherspoon Frierson, V, 81, retired pharmacist, homebuilding contractor and resident of Antioch, died Friday, October 10, 2003 in Nashville. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Presbyterian Churchyard with Rev. Arch Warren officiating. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was a decendant of pioneer settlers in the Zion Community and son of the late John Witherspoon Frierson, IV and Cornelia Brown Frierson. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Frierson maintained a life-long interest in local history as a member of the Maury County Historical Society. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Chapman Frierson of Antioch; four daughters, Eleanor Grace Frierson of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Claire Frierson Stifler of Leeds, Massachusetts, Cathy Anne Frierson of Waterville, Maine and Elizabeth Brown Frierson of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren; a step-daughter, Linda (Stan) Crews; four step-sons, Don Chapman, Kenneth Chapman, Arthur Chapman, Billy Chapman; a sister, Harriet Frierson Crabb of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; a brother, Dr. Wallace Brown (Pat) Frierson of Huntsville, Alabama; dear friends, Madeline and "Hammer" Gentry.
