John Eric Hendrickson

John Eric Hendrickson, 65, mortgage banker and resident of Hendersonville, died Friday, August 18, 2017.A prayer service will be conducted Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. David Craig officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held at Arlington Cemetery. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born May 9, 1952 in Butte, Montana, he was the son of the late Charles Adair Hendrickson and the late Eudora Vandiver Hendrickson. Eric earned his Bachelor's degree from David Lipscomb University and a Culinary Science degree from The Art Institute of Tennessee. For several years, he taught banking at Vanderbilt University and was president of several local banking institutions. He was President of the Maury County Chamber of Commerce in 1992, as well as President of the Columbia Rotary Club. Eric was an Advisory Board Member for Maury Regional Hospital from 1990-1995 and he served on the Board of Directors for Crime Stoppers of Maury County. He completed the 1988-1989 Charter Class of Leadership Maury and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Foundation of Rotary International. Eric was honored by the Columbia Jaycees as Outstanding Young Man of Maury County in 1989, and he was honored by the Tennessee Jaycees as Outstanding Young Tennessean in 1992. He was also recognized for his work and support of the March of Dimes. A family man, Eric built a club house and swing set for his grandchildren and enjoyed water skiing with his family. He was a member of the Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Kyle (Wendy) Hendrickson of Murfreesboro; daughter, Kyndall (Grant) Hudson of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Charles Hendrickson and Andrew Hendrickson of Murfreesboro; brother, Vance (Pam) Hendrickson of Mt. Pleasant; nephew, Brent (Meghan) Hendrickson of Franklin; niece, Elizabeth (Kevin) Miller of Fort Worth, Texas; and Quinetta Hendrickson of Hendersonville.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by infant brother, Charles Vance Hendrickson.
