Mr. John J. "Jack" Miller, 80, retired employee of IBM and resident of Lady Diana Drive, died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 15, 2005 at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Jim Henning officiating. A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Sylvester Miller and Anna Fukan Miller. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 42nd Rainbow Division in Germany in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Miller was employed as an engineer with IBM in Endicott, New York for forty-five years. He loved automobile repair work and was very proud of his two grandsons who are attorneys. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Margaret J. Caldwell Miller of Columbia; one daughter, Judy M. (Bradley M.) Carter of Franklin; two grandsons, Patrick M. (Diana) Carter of Columbia; Bradley Michael (Kristen) Carter of Clarksville; one sister, Janet Crawford of Rochester, Minnesota; one great grandchild, Grace Carter of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one sister, Claire Hegle.
