Mr. John Andrew Ring, Sr., 87, farmer and resident of Brown Road in the Spring Hill Community, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Johnny Ring officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Martin Ring and Willie Collins Ring. He was a member Spring Hill United Methodist Church. For a number of years, Mr. Ring did carpentry work for Baird-Ward Company in Nashville. His wife, Nannie Louise Winchester Ring, died December 26, 1970. Survivors include two sons, John A. (Thelma) Ring, Jr. of Columbia and Charles Fletcher (Carolyn) Ring of Spring Hill; five grandchildren, Lissa (Thom) McHugh, Louise (Bruce) Maynard, Tina Ring (Johnny) McGaw, Jared (Jennifer) Ring and Jason Weaver; four great-grandchildren, John McHugh, Keeley McHugh, Gavin Ring and Josh Taft. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bessie Mae Atkins and a brother, Fred Ring. Active pallbearers are Johnny Glenn, Edward Harmon, Charles Goolsby, Johnny Heithcock, Mike Neal, Tandy King, Henry Smith, Richard Derryberry and Chance Martin. Honorary pallbearers include G. W. Bowman, Garland Glenn, L. B. Chappell, Morris Mathews, Billy Sudberry, Charlie Rankin, Glyn Smith, Bud Mitchum, W. A. Hunter, Jimmy McNeeley, Carl Church and James Lochridge.
