Mr. John Howard Voss, 74, retired employee of Parks Motor Sales and resident of Circle Drive, died Thursday, February 17, 2005, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy and Don Morrow officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. He retired in 1989 following approximately thirty-five years service with Parks Motor Sales. He was an avid fisherman. He had served in the National Guard. Mr. Voss was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of fifty-two years, Juanita Morrow Voss of Columbia; one daughter, Debbie (Mark) Derryberry of Columbia; three brothers, Maury Voss (Jo) of Columbia; Kenneth (Frances) Voss of Cross Bridges; Fred (Yvonne) Voss of Hampshire; one sister, Ruth Nichols of Saginaw, Michigan; two grandchildren, Amy Derryberry and Ben Derryberry, both of Columbia; one sister-in-law, Sue Voss of Williamsport; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Voss; and four sisters, Grace Brown, Pauline Voss, Edith Ladd, and Beatrice Johnson. Pallbearers will be Freddie Voss, Norris Johnson, James Cox, Hughy Smith, Marcus Morrow, Johnny Hooten, Ronnie Hooten, Drew Morrow, Ray Williams, Kenny Lovell, and Dwane Wesley. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Brown, Jack Stanfill, Mike Nichols, Dr. Moataz Toban, Dr. Gaylon Harris, members of Highland Church of Christ, co-workers at Parks Motor Sales, staff of NHC Columbia, and staff of Maury Regional Hospital.
