Johnnie O. Flowers Mr. Johnnie Ostien Flowers, 67, former resident of Maury County, died June 16, 2004 at his residence in Davenport, Florida. Services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Home in Haines City, Florida with Chaplain John Scott officiating.A Memorial Service will be conducted Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. The family will visit with friends after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Cedar Hills Cemetery Fund, c/o Doug Garner, 3524 Hampshire Pike, Mt. Pleasant, 38474 or the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1212, Columbia, 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. He was the son of the late Herbert E. Flowers and Francis Flowers and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Hampshire High School, Columbia State Community College and Middle Tennessee State University. In 1998, he moved to Florida at his retirement from the State of Tennessee with twenty-five years service. He served as Director of Tennessee Business Enterprises, a division of Services for the Blind. Survivors include his wife, Vada Fairbanks Flowers of Davenport, Florida; a daughter, Pam (David) Perdue of Columbia; a son, Tim (Debbie) Flowers of Hampshire; a step-daughter, Crystal L. Hill of Kaiserslautern, Germany; mother and father-in-law, Stanley and Bea Fairbanks of Davenport, Florida; a granddaughter, Mary Katherine "Katie" Flowers; a grandson, Scott Rummage; step-grandchildren, Taber Hill, Brennan Hill, Kaylan Hill; nieces, Carla (Jared) Blaiser and Laura (Donnie) Henegar.
