Mr. John Franklin (Johnny) Woodard, Jr., 61, resident of Dalton St., died Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Columbia Care & Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Johnny Mack Young officiating. Burial will be in Lynnwood Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Highland Church of Christ Building Fund, 497 E. James M. Campbell Blvd., Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of the late John Franklin Woodard, Sr. and Roberta Fralix Woodard. He served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed by Heil-Quaker. Mr. Woodard was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of thirty-one years, Elizabeth Marie Dodd Woodard of Columbia; two sons, Timmy Lee Woodard and Darren Dean (Beth) Woodard both of Columbia; two daughters, Tammy Lynn Woodard and Penny Sue (Jamie) Hubbell both of Columbia; a sister, Marie (Buddy) Bunn of Pulaski; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Woodard, Dusty Ryan Woodard, Joseph Austin Hubbell, Anne Claire Hubbell; and close friends, Larry and Tina Harris of Pulaski. He was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Joe Woodard in 1988 and one sister, Jewell Downing. Pallbearers will be Paul Wagster, Landon Rummage, Larry Turner, Bobby Thurman, Don Westmoreland and Curtis Flowers.
