Joshua Lindsay Bailey Joshua Lindsay Bailey, 23, resident of Hampshire Pike, died Wednesday, August 25, 2004, in Chattanooga as the result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with Father Thomas Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery in the Cross Bridges Community with military honors provided by Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:00 - 11:00 A.M. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Josh was a 1999 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a Senior majoring in History Education at University of Tennessee Chattanooga where he was also a member of the 48th Class of Officer Candidate School. Josh was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Mortar Board, an Academic Honor Society. He was a former member of Boy Scout Troop 114, where his Eagle Scout project led to national awareness of learning disabilities. He introduced President Bill Clinton at the signing of Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in the Rose Garden at the White House. Josh was attached to the Tennessee National Guard 269th MP Company in Murfreesboro and had served in Baghdad for eleven months with Iraqi Freedom. He enjoyed being a private pilot. Josh was a communicant of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Survivors include his mother, Susan Webster Bailey of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Sarah Webster Bailey of Mt. Pleasant; father, Jimmy Ray Bailey of Mt. Juliet; paternal grandmother, Callie E. Hicks of Norris, TN; paternal grandfather, Ernest Bailey of Dayton, Ohio; uncle, Tom (Marilyn) Webster, III, of Columbia; uncle, Tom G. (Melanie) Hicks; aunt, Rebekah (Jay) Chambers; aunt, Starla (Jimmy) Arnold; and cousins, Thomas (Katie) Webster, IV and Jonathan Webster. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Thomas C. Webster, Jr. and Sue Litton Chadwell Webster. Pallbearers will be SGT Will Holton, SPC Jason Bucklew, SGT Gary Davis, SPC Jimmy Alford, SPC Royce Slaven, SPC Jason Martin, and SPC Shawn Souza. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, members of the TN National Guard 269th MP Company in Murfreesboro, and members of the 48th OCS Class.
