Joshua Neal McCarley, age 40, employee of Ryder Logistics in Spring Hill and former employee of the Maury County Department of Corrections, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at his residence in Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chaplain Douglas Cobern officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Born August 10, 1977 in Montgomery, Alabama, he was the son of Diann Mitchell Shoemake of Columbia and Roger Neal McCarley of Florida. He graduated from Pelham High School in Pelham, Alabama and attended Jefferson State Community College. Mr. McCarley was an avid Harley Davidson fan. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Leticia Mia McCarley of Columbia; sons, Justin McCarley and Jacob McCarley, both of Georgia; step-father, Stephen Shoemake of Columbia; maternal grandmother, Mary Ruffin Mitchell of Columbia; paternal grandmother, Pat McCarley of Alabama; aunt, Debi M. (Marvin) Cobern of Franklin; uncles, Douglas (Jennifer) Mitchell of Montgomery, Alabama and Danny (Debbie) McCarley of Hoover, Alabama; and cousins, Christopher M. (Amanda) Cobern and Douglas C. Cobern, both of Spring Hill; Caitlan Mitchell (Matt) Williams of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Billy D Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Christopher Cobern, Marvin Cobern, Douglas Mitchell, Dallas DeBoer, and Craig.
