View Funeral Webcast Joy Lynn Bratton Nelson, 65, floral designer for many years in the Columbia area and resident of Columbia, died Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Danny Lunn officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at Goshen Cemetery at a later date. Born March 11, 1958 in Maury County, she was the daughter of Clara Mai Shouse Bratton Malugin and the late Claude Edward “Eddie” Bratton. In addition to her mother, Clara Mai Malugin, survivors include her daughters, Kristen (Rodney) Benderman of Lawrenceburg; Brandy Lynn (Jonathan) Norman of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter, Kaylee Nichols of Mt. Pleasant; siblings, Tony Bratton of Santa Fe; Randy (Connie) Bratton of Columbia; Bethany Malugin of Columbia; Tina Malugin of Alabama; partner of seven years, Wayne Phillips; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Cleveland and Ethel Shouse, W.B. & Claudie Bratton; and nephew, Bobby Bratton.
