Joyce Hughes Churchwell

Mrs. Joyce Marie Hughes Churchwell, 74, homemaker, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, at her residence on Cliff White Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols with Doug Brown officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Ardmore, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Lloyd Hughes and Ruby Ellen Scott Scott Hughes. She was married to Warren John "W. J." Churchwell who preceded her in death on June 17, 2003. She was a 1950 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Survivors include two sons, John Scott (Mamie Jean) Churchwell and Warren Bruce Churchwell, both of Columbia; three grandchildren, Brannon Gray Churchwell, Pamela (Justin) McKennon, Ricky Baker, II; one great granddaughter, Alexia Mason McKennon; two sisters, Vivian Kennedy of Fort Myers, Florida; Margaret (Joe) Talley of Columbia; two sisters-in-law, Ann Norman of Columbia; Judy Gray of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.
