View Funeral Webcast Joyce Price Allen, 71, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and resident of Spring Hill, died Monday, December 7, 2020 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at West Seventh Street Church of Christ with Dr. Patrick Chapman officiating and song leader, Joe Bedwell. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born April 24, 1949 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Price and the late Phyllis Christopher Price. She grew up in the Greensmill Community, attended Spring Hill School until 9th grade and then went to Columbia Central High School, where she graduated in 1967. Earlier in life, she was a substitute school teacher for Columbia Academy and later went on to be a Certified Medical Coder for Mid-South GI for 25 years. She was an excellent cook and her greatest joy was giving gifts and doing things for others. Mrs. Allen was a member of West Seventh Street Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband of 52 years, whom she married February 14, 1968, Harold Glen Allen of Columbia; sons, Chris Allen of Columbia; Phillip (Shannon) Allen of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Andrew Allen and Leah Allen both of Huntsville, Alabama; sister, Pamela Rochester of Annandale, Virginia; friends of her son, Chris, that she considered sons; Patrick Chapman, Dan Shappley, and Miles Nunnally; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Sam and Linda McDaniel, Dot Fields, and James and Anita Allen. Active pallbearers will be Andrew Allen, Dan Shappley, Miles Nunnaly, Sam McDaniel, Stephen Fields, and David Fields.
