Juanita Ann Overbey Taylor, 93, resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at NHC Columbia, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Greg Gwin officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 P.M. till the time of service at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Born December 10, 1930, in Centerville, she was the daughter of the late Marvin Overbey and the late May Bates Overbey. On December 10, 1951, she married the love of her life, Granville Andrew Taylor. They had 55 wonderful years of marriage together, until his passing on October 26, 2007. Mrs. Taylor worked as a seamstress for Publix Shirt Factory, until they closed, then worked at the Spring Hill High School. She loved her family, and her church family dearly. Mrs.Taylor was a member of Collegevue Church of Christ.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter, Sandra Taylor Morton of Columbia; grandsons, Scott Lee (Cindy) Morton of Spring Hill, and Bradley Michael Morton of Columbia; great-granddaughter, Scotlyn Emery Morton of Spring Hill; brother, Ronald Overbey of Big Sandy, TN; sister, Sue Nash of Nunnelly, TN; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Sylvia Hicks, and Virginia Morrison; brother, Gary Overbey; and her son-in-law, Clyde Morton.
