Mrs. Judy Fay Toombs Brown, 63, retired owner/operator of Sunshine Florist in Perry County and resident of Westwood Drive, died Monday, November 10, 2008 at Maury Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 6 p.m. at the church. The Rutherford County native was the daughter of the late Ruben Andrew Toombs and Ruby Mildred Ensey Toombs. She was a graduate of Murfreesboro Central High School. She was married to James Brown, Jr. who preceded her in death February 8, 2003. Survivors include a son, David DeVoss of Pocatello, Idaho; daughter, Melinda (Jeff) Thomas of Columbia; three grandchildren, Fayth Thomas, Hope Thomas, Matthew Thomas all of Columbia; three sisters, Betty R. Toombs (Ron) Kidd of Fletcher, North Carolina, Kathy (Billy) Jakes, Jackie Bradshaw both of Murfreesboro; nieces and nephews, Tina Sanders, Sean Michael Sanders, Kristy Jakes, Andy (Shannon) Jakes, Jennifer Bradshaw, Erika Bradshaw all of Murfreesboro, Kyle Bradshaw of California; and Lady the Dog.
