Julia Mae "Judy" Redding White, 88, private home health sitter and resident of Warner's Bridge Road in Shelbyville, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Chaplain Mike Dodrill officiating. Burial will follow in John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 1, 1927 in Maury County she was the daughter of the late Everett Wilkes Redding and Mattie Mae Osborne Redding. She married Charles Elbert White who preceded her in death June 10, 2005. Mrs. White had a wonderful sense of humor and was always playing jokes on others. She enjoyed singing, cooking, and gardening. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. Mrs. White was of Baptist faith. Survivors include her son, Keith (Carrie) White of Shelbyville; daughter, Penny (Michael) Crosby of Lawrenceburg and Pam (Mark) Fisher of Leoma; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great grandchildren; brother, Gary (Alice) Redding; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Doug White; granddaughters, Megan White and Nicole Toungett; great grandson, Jordyn Ward; and brother, James Redding. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
