June Elizabeth Collier King, 89, resident of Columbia Rock Road, died Friday, December 15, 2017 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 109 East 17th Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born June 1, 1928 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late William Wallace Collier and the late Stella Short Collier. On April 16, 1949, she married Gordon "Buddy" King who preceded her in death April 3, 2013. Mrs. King enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, where she loved her church family and loved working in the nursery for many years. Survivors include her daughters, Vickie (Allen Wayne) Ingram of Spring Hill and Peggy Jean Mayberry of Nolensville; grandson, Brandon Mayberry of Nolensville; great granddaughter, Crislyn Taylor Reese of Spring Hill; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Ingram Reese; and siblings, Forrest Collier, Margueritte Carvell, Marie Mullins, Frances Giles, Dorothy Davis, John Collier and Grace Cothron. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to express a special thank you to Hospice Compassus and The Grove at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
