Mrs. Karen Sue Matthews "Kay" McKinzie, 48, died Saturday, June 30, 2007 at her residence on Pulaski Highway in the Culleoka Community. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Monte McCandless officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. A devoted wife and loving mother, she is survived by her husband, R M McKinzie; two sons, Robert Matthew McKinzie and Nicholas "Nicky" McKinzie, all of Culleoka; a grandson, Kolby McKinzie, of Columbia; a sister, Shelia Matthews of Culleoka; a brother, Roger (Kitty) Reese of Mt. Pleasant; special aunt, Jewel McCandless of Columbia; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Matthews Arbuckle.Active pallbearers are Gary McCandless, Larry Johns, David Black, Jeremy Cothron, Randel Venable, and Jimmy Roland.Honorary pallbearers include men of Faith Pentecostal Church and former employees of Larry Johns Construction Company, and Dr. Rodney Poling.
