View Video Tribute Katherine Faye Moore Vandiver, 85, retired President’s Executive Assistant for DuPont/Spontex, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at her residence in Columbia. A private family service will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born February 5, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Dick Moore and the late Katherine Overall Savage. On April 1, 1983, she married Floyd Ray Vandiver who preceded her in death November 7, 2012. An avid gardener, Mrs. Vandiver was acknowledged nationally for her gardening, especially her roses as a Consulting Rosarian. She raised and showed English Setters and loved her cats. Mrs. Vandiver enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include her children, Brenda (Phil) Wenk of Brentwood; Jim (Vicki) Wilhoite of Gainesville, Georgia; bonus children, Resa (Hollis) Carpenter of Columbia; Phillip (Suzie) Vandiver of Murfreesboro; Kendall (Sabrina) Vandiver of Columbia; grandchildren, Andrea Wenk (Scott) Hardy of Nashville; Alan (Barbie) Wenk of Brentwood; Jay (Hillary) Wilhoite of Georgia; Peyton Wilhoite of Georgia; Molly Katherine (Randel) Johnston of Columbia; Erica Loraine Vandiver of Columbia; Kendall Locke Vandiver of Columbia; Tristan Elijah (Amelia) Vandiver of Quantico, Virginia; Gabriel Montoya of Columbia; Angel Montoya of Columbia; Holly (Shane) Rector of Chicago; Heather (Daniel) Neely of Columbia, Missouri; and ten great grandchildren. Family will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Hospice Compassus.
