View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Kathrine Kay Anderson Baxter born January 19, 1939 to John and Mary Kathleen Pogue Anderson passed away at Maury Regional Medical Center Thursday, March 10, 2022. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Baxter Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:30 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. Kay was a long-time employee of General Electric and retired after 30 years. She enjoyed her retirement spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and never missed an event or ballgame. Kay enjoyed fishing, planting beautiful flower beds, and listening to George Jones. In her later years, she enjoyed sitting outside with her beloved dog, Chipper and visiting with neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Lloyd Edward “Rip” Baxter Jr.; siblings, James “Bubby” Anderson, Alma Grimmett, Sammy Anderson, Charlie Anderson, Martha Barker, and Beulah Marshall; and grandson, Finn Baxter. Kay is survived by her children, Belynda (Ray) Jenkins, Kimberly Johnston (Curt Hoffman), Lloyd “Rip” (Kacy) Baxter III, and Miriam (Jimmy) Rainey; grandchildren, Trevor (Amanda) Lockhart, Taylor (Dakota) Qualls, Seth Johnston, Leah Jenkins, Ray Hoover (Norah) Jenkins, Drew (Eden) Jenkins; great grandchildren, Maxx Qualls, Georgia Ray Jenkins, Hattie Jenkins, Cullen Jenkins; sisters, Marie Filson, Sue Voss; brothers-in-law, David (Debbie) Baxter, Glenn Petty, Harold Skidmore; and many nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Trevor Lockhart, Seth Johnston, Dakota Qualls, Ray Jenkins, Curt Hoffman, Jimmy Rainey, and Ronnie Pack. Honorary pallbearers include Jimmy Rippey, Jim Taylor, Ray Hoover Jenkins, and Drew Jenkins.
