Kenneth Ray Miller

Mr. Kenneth Ray Miller, 83, a resident of 8th Avenue in Columbia, died Friday, July 16, 2021 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Born February 5, 1938 he was the son of the late John Miller and the late Hulda Friesen Miller. On August 25, 1960 he married Janice Woolery Miller who preceded him in death on December 11, 2007. He attended Hutchinson Community College where he received an Associate Degree in Business. Mr. Miller retired from sales at Western Association and after retirement was a school bus driver. He enjoyed playing cards and was an avid collector of trains and tractors. Mr. Miller loved spending time with his family and friends. In 2005 he moved to Ohio to be closer to his children and grandchildren. On June 22, 2012 he married Jolene Spencer of Emporia, Kansas who preceded him in death on May 20, 2020. Mr. Miller was a lifetime member of Hutchinson First Church of the Nazarene where he was on the church board and served as an usher. Survivors include his children, Todd (Christine) Miller and Tami (Craig) Patterson; grandchildren, Taylor Miller, Miles (Sydney) Miller, and Lindsay (Dylan) Miller Holmes; great-grandchildren, Luke Miller, Edith Miller, Moses Miller, Lolly Miller; sisters, Helen (Robert) Friesen and JoAnn Miller; and other cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Hutchison First Nazarene Church in Hutchison, Kansas. Oakes & Nichols is assisting the family with local arrangements.
