Kenneth Bradford Stone, 44, former greens keeper for King's Creek Golf Course, died Friday, November 28, 2008 at his residence. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Jerry Elder officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Columbia native attended Maury County schools and was a graduate of Walters State Community College with an associate degree in golf course management. A golfer since childhood, he pursued his interest in the sport with a career as a greens keeper. Kenneth also was an avid fan of University of Tennessee football. He was a communicant of St. Pete's Episcopal Church. Survivors include his mother, Ann Rascoe Stone of Columbia; his father, Michael Stone, Sr. of Athens; brother, Mike (Jolynn) Stone of Columbia; nephew, Hayden Stone of Columbia; maternal aunts and uncles, Judy and Jim Stamp of Orlando, Florida, Sue and Milo Oakland of Atlanta, Georgia,Al and Era Jaynes of Franklin; paternal uncle and aunt, Robert and Jane Stone of Charlotte; and several cousins.
