Kenneth Waymond “Kenny” Green, 63, retired plumbing specialist for Lowe’s and life-long resident of Maury County, died Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Tommy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born July 16, 1956 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Connie Allen Green and the late Betty Ann Grubbs Green. On August 28, 1982 he married Debbie Howell and they recently celebrated 37 years of marriage. He enjoyed collecting miniature trains and cooking, which lead him to become an official Kansas City BBQ judge. He loved country music, was a self-taught mandolin player, and he never met a stranger. Mr. Green was a devoted member of the McCain’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Howell Green of Columbia; sister, Connie Ann Dawson of Fayetteville; brothers, Wayne (Beverly) Green of Columbia and Malcolm “Skeeter” (Mott) Green of Columbia; brothers-in-law, Calvin (Jean) Howell of Columbia, Robin Howell of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie Green, Sr. Active pallbearers will be Steve Howell, David Heflen, Tommy Ervin, Kenny Crain, Scott Howell, Eddie Green, Jr., Jeremy Dawson, Chris Green, and Dusty Dawson. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis White, Donnie Fuller, Mike Cooper, Larry Franklin, Steve Piper, Friends at Bucky’s & Hillview Restaurant, Jeff and Nannette McElroy, Andy & Kayla McElroy, Lynn Lee & Tonya Brown, and all other friends of the Country Club.
