KENNY FARRIS Kenny Farris, 72, retired employee of Dupont and Spontex and resident of the Bear Creek Pike in the Pottsville Community, died Sunday, December 15, 2002, at St. Thomas Hospital. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with James Dickey officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 7:00 P.M. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Kelly Farris, Sr. and Lillie Cranford Farris. Mr. Farris was a breeder of Polled Herefords and a member of the Polled Hereford Association. He served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Bethesda Masonic Lodge in Williamson County. Survivors include his wife, Verna Roberts Farris of Pottsville Community; one daughter, Dee Dee Napier of Columbia; two sisters, Una Ring of Pottsville Community; Louise Lange of Louisville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Sara Farris of Columbia; mother-in-law, Cora Roberts of Columbia; four grandchildren, Tabitha Napier, Heather Emerson, Tristan McCracken, John T. Napier; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Ricky McCracken, his brother, Bill Farris, and his twin brother, Kelly Farris. Pallbearers will be Leroy Farris, Johnny Ring, Don Dugger, Eddie Parks, Dr. C. D. George, and Zack Dismukes. Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Dupont.
