Rogers Funeral Service WebcastMr. Kevin Dewayne Rogers, 35, coordinator of the Young Adult Academy at King's Daughters' School, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at his residence on Skelley Road in the Santa Fe Community. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with David Morris and Barry Throneberry officiating. Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery in Maury County. The family will visit with friends Sunday after 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to a trust fund for his children at First Farmers & Merchants Bank. A longtime resident of Chester County, he was the son of Glenda Marie Sasser-Rogers of Jackson and Danny Dale & Glenda Rogers of Henderson. He was a graduate of Chester County High School and University of Tennessee Martin Campus. Kevin had previously worked at The Daily Herald as a sports writer and copy editor. He was a member of Highland Church of Christ where he served as deacon. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Denise Baxter Rogers of Santa Fe; two sons, Reed Brady and Cannon Rogers, both of Santa Fe; one brother, Monty (Karen) Rogers of Spring Hill; grandmother, Ida Rogers of Mifflin, TN; nieces and nephews, Tanner Baxter, Paige Kephart, Rachael Baxter, Madison Kephart, all of Santa Fe; Tiffany Rogers of Spring Hill; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Active pallbearers will be Bruce McIntyre, William Clifford, Dr. Larry Bloomingburg, David Robbins, Dennis Robbins, Justin Lamb, Bart Hunt, Doug Reed, Ken Reed, Wes May, and Mike West. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and elders of Highland Church of Christ, sports staff of The Daily Herald, and administration and staff of King's Daughters' School.
