Larry Wallace Ervin, 69, employee of Waldon Security, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at his residence on East Fifteenth Street. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Van Buren Ervin, I and the late Joyce Marie Grubbs Ervin. He was a former employee of Morgan Brothers Electric and former owner/operator of E. M. Grubbs Sheet Metal. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife whom he married November 26, 1971, Julie O. Daniel Ervin of Columbia; daughter, Joyce Marie Ervin of Columbia; son, Van Buren (Marlina) Ervin, II, of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Tabitha (Shane) Wiesman, Megan (Matt) Smith, Summer Ervin (Jordan Beard), Dillan Ervin, Logan Ervin, Callie Ervin, seven great grandchildren; sister, Brenda (Mike) Roberts; and brother, Van Thomas "Tommy" Ervin. Active pallbearers will be Brandon Sparkman, Josh Sparkman, Walter Fitzgerald, Austin York, Payton York, John Roberts, and Carlton Wilson. The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Hospice Compassus and members of Fruit of the Vine.
