LARRY A. HELMICKMr. Larry Allen Helmick, 57, employee of the Wastewater Department for the City of Columbia, died Friday, January 24, 2003 at his residence on Allison Avenue.Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Ronnie Johnson and Rev. Howard Alexander officiating. Burial will be in the Morton Cemetery. The family will visit with friends after 12:00 Noon Sunday at the funeral home.The Cleveland, Ohio native was reared in Columbia and a graduate of Columbia Central High School. He was a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics and attended the Franklin Nazarene Church.Survivors include his mother, Edna Earl Gilliam Helmick of Columbia; wife, Patricia Johnson Helmick of Columbia; a sister-in-law, Wanda Ann West Helmick of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Tina Jackson, Tammy Lyons, Randy Helmick, Tony Helmick, T. J. Akins, all of Columbia; step-grandchildren, Shayna Johnson of Centerville, Lenox Johnson and Avery Johnson, both of Columbia. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Anne Poole Hemick in 1989, his father, William Robert Helmick, two brothers, Bobby Gene Helmick and Thomas Lee Helmick.
