View Funeral Webcast Mr. Larry C Love, 72, a resident of Hampshire, died Friday, August 13, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro. Funeral services for Mr. Love will be conducted Wednesday August 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born December 21, 1948, he was the son of the late Julian C. Love and the late Thelma Lee Green Duncan. Mr. Love was a graduate of Hampshire High School Class of 1968. He served in the United States Army 14 months during the Vietnam War and received several medals including the National Defense Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Army Commendation Medal. Mr. Love retired from Union Carbide where he worked in the milling department. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his brother, Ernest (Nancy) Love of Mt. Pleasant, niece and nephew, Casey Love and Christopher Potts; and brother-in-law, Wendell Potts of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Fay Potts. Pallbearers will be Wendell Potts, Christopher Potts, Gene Ray Baxter, Terry Shelby, Bobby Lee Runions and Walker Farris.
