View Funeral Webcast Larry Kittrell Morton, 65, retired trainman for CSX Transportation and resident of Dry Fork Road in the Hampshire Community, died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with David D. Davidson officiating. Burial will be in Worley Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday after 4:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was a graduate of Hampshire High School and member of Boy Scouts of America. He was awarded the "God & Country" medal, the highest honor given by BSA. He served in the Tennessee National Guard and was a life-long member of Cathey's Creek Church of Christ. For his entire adult life, he raised, trained, and showed Tennessee Walking Horses. He was a member of the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' & Exhibitors' Association and former member of the Maury County Horsemen's Association. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles E. Morton, Jr. in 2002. Survivors include his wife, Linda Williams Morton of Hampshire; daughters, Kelly Sue (Danny) Stinnett of Hampshire and Julie (Dustin) Lewis of Duck River; a son, Ronald Kittrell Morton of Hampshire; his mother, Kathleen Whiteside Morton of Hampshire; sister, Nancy (Mike) Bassett of Antioch; brothers, Charles E. (Linda) Morton, III of Mt. Pleasant and Benny (Brenda) Morton of Hampshire; grandchildren, Samantha Sue Stinnett of Hampshire, Thomas Kyle Lewis and Lindsey Kaye Lewis of Duck River, and Tristan Alexander Cole of Columbia; his mother-in-law, Ruth Cannady Williams of Columbia. Active pallbearers are Ross Morton, Charles E. Morton, IV, Jeff Whiteside, Glen Whiteside, Harold Delk, Neil Delk, Jason Delk, Brandon Williams, and Michael Grimes.
