Larry Wayne Hann, 68, lifelong resident of Columbia and retired employee of Union Carbide, died Thursday, February 13, 2020 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2p.m. Monday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Macer officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends from 5 p.m. – 7p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 23, 1951 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Lewis Hann, Sr. and the late Ella Jane Blocker Hann. He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School class of 1969 and also a member of the United States National Guard. Mr. Hann was a member, active flag folder, and past commander for Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19, Ed T. Workman Masonic Lodge #610 F&AM, and Columbia Elks Lodge. He enjoyed all sports, but especially shooting sports and guns. Mr. Hann was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his daughters, Teresa Hann of Columbia and Jennah (Kyle) Knight of Lafayette; son, Travis (Sara) Hann of Columbia; grandchildren, Brian Hann, Josh Hann, Jacob Hann, Izzy Knight, Orion Knight, and Kalliope Knight; and brother, Lewis A. Hann, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by longtime companion, Lisa Thurman. Active pallbearers will be family & friends. Honorary pallbearers will include members of Columbia Elks Club, Ed Workman Masonic Lodge #610, and American Legion Post 19 flag detail.
