View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Laurel Anita Williams Dugger, 81, retired office manager for SCT Systems and resident of Columbia, died Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center, Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Clay Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born April 13, 1941 in Davidson County, she was the daughter of the late Wallace Edward Williams and the late Mary Lou Castleman Williams. Mrs. Dugger was an active member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, where she participated in Ladies Bible Class and Children’s Bible Class. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, being outdoors, gardening, and hiking in the Smoky Mountains. A very accomplished piano player and teacher, Mrs. Dugger loved the Nashville Symphony. Survivors include her husband, whom she married June 2, 1962, Bradley Smith Dugger of Columbia; daughters, Susie Dugger (John Harknett) of Collierville; Cindy (Mark) Russell of Valparaiso, Indiana; grandchildren, Josh (Katelyn) Russell, Philip (Sarah) Russell, Evan Harknett, Gretchen Harknett, Annalise Harknett, Adam Harknett, Camille Harknett; great grandchildren, Avery Russell, Lydia Russell; sister, Janice (Wayne) Castleman; brother, Dan (Shirley) Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons and sons-in-law.
